Have a Wonderful Day, On Purpose
Shannon King, Charity Director

If you were given the choice, would you choose a life of happiness or a life of disappointment?  Did you know that you already have this choice?  In every moment, the choice is yours to make.  “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it” – Charles R. Swindoll.  I completely agree with Mr. Swindoll.

I’ve listened to sermons from different ministers about being happy on purpose.  This concept is also reflected in The Law of Attraction and in principals of energy. “Where attention goes, energy flows” – James Redfield.  It’s also said by Tony Robins, “Where focus goes, energy flows.” Have you ever heard that what you put out into the world comes back to you?

The general principal is that everything is energy and your mind is a very powerful thing.  When you project your thoughts and fuel it with your emotional energy you create something very powerful.  You are letting the universe know that this is what you want and therefore that is what comes back to you.  It’s like a water drop hitting a still pool.  The pool takes in the drop then pushes out an identical droplet. It’s like a reflection.    If you constantly think about and worry about not having enough money then the energy principal says, “oh, you want to continue to have no money.”  That’s what you get.  You get more lack because you are emotionally fueling the concept of lack in your life.  Focus on the solution, not the problem.

When we wake up in the morning it’s important to set our intention for the day.  Smile and decide that today is going to be a great day!  Walk out of your house with a great attitude, on purpose, and expect a great day to unfold.  You will always find what you are looking for.  If you are determined to have a great day then you will find happiness before you.  Negative things that happen aren’t going stand out or ruffle your feathers so much.  You’ll easily brush them off and keep smiling.

The same thing goes for having a bad day.  If you wake up and stub your toe you might think, “Oh great.  It’s going to be that kind of a day.  I just know it.”  Now you are expecting a bad day.  As you go about your day you are now looking for the negative things in life.   You notice them and declare confirmation that this day sucks.  I guarantee that if that’s what you expect, then that’s the day that will unfold before you.

Take responsibility for how you feel.  You are in charge.  You don’t have to let something ruin your entire day.  One bad moment is just that – one bad moment.  A bad moment doesn’t have to mean an entire bad day.  Don’t let it.   Choose to let it go.  Move forward and decide that this is still a fantastic day.  Remember that how you perceive life is up to you.  So, declare each day a great day and stick to your guns!  Have a wonderful day, every day!
